Giving Thanks

There is much I am thankful for:

  • Potable Water
  • Electricity
  • Organic Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
  • The Interweb
  • Roads and Transportation
  • Freedom of Speech
  • Mom and Dad
  • You

You know all those people you want to thank for being so amazing and for what they’ve given you?

All the things you want to gush to the people you love, but you’re not going to because you think it’ll make you look soft or weak.

All those things you want to tell people about how much you love and appreciate them. Except they’re going to blow it off or tease you or make light of it.

Or you’ll make fun of yourself. “That’s so stupid. Why would I say such a dumb thing? I’m so lame” (or whatever your version of it is).

Just for today, say those things. Blame it on the holiday, or the food. Blame it on me.

When everyone in the world is willing to express love and appreciation for each other, the world will know peace.

When we are all willing to acknowledge who the people around us are, the people around us will begin to discover their greatness.

They may even begin to see themselves the way you see them.

I am thankful that I may live to see that.

Thank you for reading my words. Thank you for being who you are. Thank you for making the world a brighter place.

You do, you know.
